A local fire recently devoured the home to CatNAP and its owner.

Please read the following email that was sent to me from Crystal, a friend and volleyball player with NSSC....

Hello Everyone,

As many of you know I have been volunteering for a non-profit organization called CATNAP. It helps control the feral cat population in Nanaimo as well as rescue homeless cats. It also houses cats that are not adoptable. Unfortunately, a few days ago the house that many of the cats (waiting for adoption, healing from infection or surgery) lived in burnt down. It also stored all of the supplies needed to transport, feed, and care for the cats. There is absolutely nothing left and so far, of the 20+ cats living there, only 4 have been found. The wonderful lady who owned the house and did much of the care for the cats lost everything, besides the clothes on her back. She is obviously devestated and currently homeless.
This is my plea to you. We are in desperate need of cat supplies: food, beds, carriers etc., litter, litter boxes. Just as important, Gloria is in need of a place to live. She has a dog and possibly a couple cats. She is currently staying with another member of CATNAP. If you think that you or anyone you know can help in any way, please email or call me.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Any help is greatly appreciated, even if you just spread the word.
Crystal

P.S. Ocassionally, NSSC might post select information not related to our organization. This is not the ususal case and we do not accept requests for this to happen. Thank you.
